Gulfport

Gulfport is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, bordering St. Petersburg and Boca Ciega Bay.

"Old Florida" is a phrase often evoked in describing Gulfport's waterfront district, with its mix of small-scale cottages and small independent shops, restaurants and other businesses, situated among mature oak trees and brick-paved streets.

We almost didn’t want to tell you about Gulfport, St. Pete’s somewhat undiscovered little community located on the water toward the south end of the St. Pete/Clearwater peninsula. But this place is just too good to be kept a secret.

Between the view of Isla Del Sol across the bay, the artsy and quirky shops, fabulous waterfront restaurants and thriving art scene, Gulfport is a fun, quaint community all its own.

Gulfport and South Pasadena share one characteristic that is unique to the area.  Neither city has a hotel.  Consequently, both don’t suffer from the “tourist syndrome,” of extraordinary traffic congestion, tourist traps and noise.  Taken together, the two small cities, (a total of 3.4 square miles), provide all the amenities of small town America with excellent shopping; several fine restaurants; in-town medical facilities; an historic waterfront village and quick, easy access to all the amenities of St. Petersburg and the Gulf beaches.
